tom & the river
2012
Mixed media sculpture/performance
Inspired by the writings of Mark Twain, Tom and The River is a performance art project about the Mississippi River as a symbol of youth. At once fertile and creative, the river is also capitalistic and expansive in its reach. DB Lampman is The River, costumed in swimming goggles, rain boots, and a sculptural outfit made of over 500 ft of garden hose. This is a multimedia performance that incorporates sculpture, movement, and layered video and sound.

Tom is performed by Henne Van Campen.
